Meditation is a proven technique to reduce stress. The build up of Stress can be caused by over whelming work or constant negative emotions. When stress encapsulates you over an extended period of time, it will usually cause illness and pains. This is how our body tells us that it is not feeling well.
Some problems that might be derived from stress:
- insomnia (unable to sleep)
- snoring
- tireness
- loss of appetite
- weak immune defense
- general pains
Stress which can be summarized as the root of all illnesses. Stress has 2 parts, 1 physical and the other mental. Mental stress causes damage to soft body parts such as the mind, internal organs. Physical stress such as prolonged wrong sitting posture, causes damage to harder body parts such as bones. Tao, emphasizes on natural remedies. By attuning your mind to pulse and flow with the rhythm of nature, we can relief mental stress. Meditate whenever possible, or preferably at least 2 times a day.
Find a nice calm spot, which is not too noisy and away from electronic devices.Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Try to keep your mind clear from matters. You will realise you lose track of time when you open your eyes. Congratulations and keep on going. You can try the following methods to help enhance your session:
- Play some soothing sounds; like sounds of sea waves, rain or jungle.
- Burn light scented oils or Taoist incense. (recommended raw sandalwood from Asia)
- Drink some water before meditation.
- Stretch for a little before meditation.
